It's getting hot over there. Summer is here and I could not sleep last night. I miss winter
I try to shade the clouds, but it was hard. I could not get it to look like clouds at all. The sea as well, the wave is hard to shade. I also could not get the sky to look as if it's bright, because it looks cloudy and not hot at all.
Those feet! I could not tell you how many times I have to rub the feet because it was hard to draw! I even look for reference and *cough* check my own feet, but I could not draw them.
Anyway, picture may look rough. I didn't initially want to shade and upload since it's like a practice to draw sitting position.
Clouds? Tutorial. I use it (with some personal variation) and it helped me a lot. =)
Waves? Shade the water slightly, then just right where they touch the sand, put a lot of white dots. Water reaching the beach is rather bubbly and bubbles reflect sunlight to give off that white foamy color. Yeah, it's actually part of natural physics. ;)
Feet? Mirror or digital camera. They're the best options because you have total control over what you want. Cartoonists use these two things the most to solve anatomy problems.
Sky? Can't help you much. The tone's good enough... well, mostly. =|
Ah, the clouds! Thanks! I'll try that when I have next drawing that needs cloud xD Ah, the waves are hard, I know when the sands are wet, it will have darker color, so I shade a bit between sand the water. Haha, yeah I did put white between the 'wet' sand and the wave, I think I should have erased the pencil outline, since the black outline looks so strong.
Yeah, for the feet, I did use err digital webcam xD In fact some poses (hands most of them), I used my webcam. Posing in front of the webcam sure is weird (but fun!). I also use posemaniacs for some of the poses. xD
I think I should have erased the pencil outline, since the black outline looks so strong. Oh, so this was 100% pencil... Scan it to PC and use GIMP or Photoshop or some other advanced raster editor for the white splashes. Think of it as sprinkling white dots on the shoreline.
Pencils and erasers have limitations to how far you can achieve this effect... that and... well, if you erase a mistake, a mark's left behind on the paper which is almost impossible to erase.
Yeah, for the feet, I did use err digital webcam xD In fact some poses (hands most of them), I used my webcam. Got a cellphone cam or a real digicam? They're easier to work with. PC webcams nowadays are attached to the PC (especially when they're built into notebooks), so they're harder to position for photoshooting.
Googled Posemaniacs. It's interesting, but I have a question: Are you allowed to dictate what pose you want and adjust it on the fly? (Like 3-D model software or real figurines.)
Haha yeah, all the lines are 100% pencil, but not the shade. Yeah, eraser mark is annoying, I have to clean it up on Photoshop. Interesting, I'll try the white dots to see how it looks like.
Oh, I use separate webcam, since I am using a desktop, which is a good thing so I can adjust as much as I want. Although, I would need to get a stable support for the webcam. I also use cellphone when I am drawing *cough* at work *cough*...
Oh, posemaniacs. The poses are fixed, I usually just try to find the different mixture of poses and combine them. I haven't used it lately, usually only when I had an artblock xD. We can only rotate left and right. I had one of the mannequins (I used it last time) xD
Hm! Sounds great! I have trouble picking out colors that go together for shading, so I started shading everything in black and white, then colorizing the flats and shading with the same values XD

Hope that helps (in the future, at least). =)

Good for you.
The poses are fixed [...] We can only rotate left and right.
